Aventurine is a variety of the Quartz family of crystals, characterized by what is believe to be mica inclusions giving the stone a 'shimmery' look. It sits at a 7 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. Aventurine comes in a variety of colors, the most common being a light green. 

These Grey Aventurine  rough beads have a lights grey patterning that adds a unique charm to the beautiful matte-finish. There are many different shapes and sizes on these strands making them useful for many different projects.
