Goldstone is often sold and represented as a natural material but is in fact a type of man-made glittering glass made in a low-oxygen reducing atmosphere. Goldstone takes a great polish and is frequently carved into beads, figurines, and other artifacts that otherwise can be carved from semiprecious stones.

Although this is a man-made crystal, it is considered to have the metaphysical qualities of glass which is considered to represent free-flowing spirituality, as well as a reflective barrier against unwanted or negative energies. Known as the "Stone of Ambition" is is said that Goldstone may aid in attaining goals.
