Falling between 1080 to 1130 years ago, the Whitecourt Meteortite fell about 10 km (6.2 mi) southeast of the Town of Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada. The impact caused a crater 36 m (118 ft) in diameter and 9 m (30 ft) deep. Over 3000 pieces hare been found as of 2012, mostly shrapnel weighing under 500 grams, with a handful of large meteorites weighing up to 31 kilograms. The pieces are composed of meteorite Irons of type IIIAB, classified by the re-crystallization of the iron crystal structure during the impact melt.

This dusty little piece of meteorite shows off a range of deep browns, with charcoal overtones. The piece is rather heavy for it's size, and has a dynamic shape that displays the natural meteorite form. A dynamic piece for any collection or display!
